Virtual reality is increasing. Whether it is online shopping or searching for a word, everything is done online. Nobody has the time to pick up a dictionary or go to the mall. The rise of apps have given consumers a great relief and made their lives easier. However, as much as the UI matters, the UX and the visual design process are equally important.

Performant design is an ingredient which can determine the experience of the user with your app. A delay of loading of even milliseconds can draw back the consumer. It would also increase your load time which is not recommended by Google. Incorporate these four tips to know how an app can perform faster to make your customers happy.

Remove heavy elements

Is the poster or the animations taking too much space? Consider removing them. Check out the load times of your app and see which elements are problematic. Then make the necessary changes accordingly. Some images would also need to be resized. Scrolling should also seem seamless. Some videos will also take time to load, so keep them short. It would also increase the interest of the viewer.

Optimize images

You can reduce the image size without compromising on quality. It is a part of the design and the development process. There are many compression tools available to get the job done easily, made up of several algorithms and rendering techniques. One such software is Squoosh which can help in the process. It is a strong web-based image optimization tool that puts high-resolution quality visuals in the display.

Use one-tap payments and sign-in

Do not make the online world confusing for the user. Everybody wants quick transactions and that is how they will rate your app; on its speed. Therefore, digital wallets such as GooglePay leverage data stored on the device to simplify complex processes. It can also allow users to complete multiple checkout steps during online shopping with a single tap. One tap sign-ins can also log users into their account in a jiffy. Give your users the options to not get their work interrupted and not letting them memorize every single information. It would generally speed up their tasks.

Make it work on all devices

Check if your boost in performance is applicable to all devices because the changes should show on all platforms. It shouldn’t matter that the consumer uses a particular type of phone or device. The speed should be low on the iPhone, Android phones, Google phones, tabs, and even iPads. You need to design for a number of devices and test performances on all of them. Also, check how your app works in low or no connectivity.
